On April 29th we had a special challah making project. This was made possible by a donation from Elliott Greenberg and the late Merwyn Brodsky. The idea was that we use the money to do something science related with the school. Turning it to a Jewish theme there is no better exact science than baking challah! Watching how the yeast makes it rise was a thrill for the kids and adults! And eating it was just that extra bonus! We were so lucky to have had this special opportunity! And thank you to Vivian Zimmerman for leading this project!
Our final Family Shabbat of the school year will be held on May 4th at Temple Anshe Sholom at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Zimmerman’s Hebrew class will be leading the service. Youth choir will be singing as well.
Confirmation will take place on Saturday, May 19th at 7:00 p.m. at Temple Anshe Sholom. This year our confirmands are, Louie Berman and Isaac Latman. We look forward to everyone coming together to celebrate this milestone with Louie and Isaac.
As the year is coming to an end I want to say a huge thank you to our families for continuing to support our school. Thank you to Robin, Tommie and Deb for leading the school committee. And to all members of the school committee thank you for your never ending support.
And of course the school can’t run without our amazing teaching staff. Rabbi Caplan, Rabbi Harari, Marsha Weiner, Vivian Zimmerman, Hannah Landsly, Becky Moeckler, and Nancy Friedman. And our student aides, Olu Akujieze, Emma Landsly, Isaac Latman, Aaron Latman, Lauren Williams and Tyler Burnett. Beit AmiChai is truly lucky to have this group teaching our students!
And finally thank you to Rabbi Caplan for all he has done for our school during his last 18 years here. We are so grateful for your dedication in giving our students the best possible Jewish education. Wishing you all the best in the next chapter of your life!
